WE ARE BRINGING DOWN THE COST OF GOVERNMENT!

The County Council is bringing down the cost of government. I understand that our families are hurting and people are losing their jobs and their homes. I  know that people need to put food on their table, pay their electric bill and pump gas into their cars.  I understand that government must get out of our purse and do more with less.  I know that we must work smarter.  

Cuts have been to the library fund, Votran bus services, community services, external programs, and beach services.  Every department was asked to come in with a 15% reduction from the year before. Budget workshops were held every meeting to identify where we could find savings in the government

This reduction to the General Fund for the next budget year is on top of the reductions that have been done every year since I was elected as your district member.  This next budget year we will have reduced the budget by $24 million. Over the past 3 fiscal years tax payers have realized $147 million in tax savings.
